Hello Everybody, you are brilliant.

Hello fair readers!

Thanks to a lovely fellow librarian I have come across a really brilliant website called Hello Everybody.

The basic explanation he has on this website is that he created a sad little website (not sad in concept at all…sad as in emotions) called Sorry Everybody after the 2004 election.

Lots of those pictures just seem like therapy for the 49% of us that dropped to our knees in horror after the 2004 election.  God…what an awful day.

But let us, as wise men say, always look on the bright side of life!

Hello Everybody is the opposite.  A great place for people to submit pictures saying “Hello in there” to the rest of the world.

And to really, in my mind, share locally and globally what a wonderful feeling there is in America right now.  So much hope.  There is still fear but it no longer seems endless.  Less shame…a feeling like we are starting to do things right again.

Hands down, my favorite pictures are the ones from people in other countries.  They bring tears to my eyes.

Like this one:

It’s just a little reminder that the world is watching us….and they are ready to take us back again. 🙂

What a feeling.

Have a lovely weekend, fair readers!  And maybe think about submitting your own Hello Everybody picture.

Patriotism (Librarian Style)

Hello fair readers!

As I’m sure many of you know another major election is upon us.

And while many of you know who I prefer….

ehem

The most important thing right now is that everyone is registered to vote!

So while I pretty much depise MTV, the best thing they have ever done is to create Rock the Vote.

Go to:

www.rockthevote.com

you can register to vote easily and online.  You just have to print this little sheet out and mail it.  How easy is that?  Seriously.

Don’t be lame.

And then after registering, do the world a favor and vote for a candidate that’s actually worth a damn.

Oh yeah, you know it. 🙂

Have a lovely Sunday fair readers!
